I would advise our next President to be a good example by not smoking, walking not riding on the golf course,-

and expelling illegal immigrants. Do you have any further suggestions for the President?I would advise our next President to be a good example by not smoking, walking not riding on the golf course,-
sure, clean up with a small baggie after the doggie poops and look both ways when they cross the street.I would advise our next President to be a good example by not smoking, walking not riding on the golf course,-
I want a President who is himself and doesn't pretend to be anything he is not.
Yes, I suggest he boss you around like you are planning on bossing him around. Or her.
what the hell does that have to do with anything ,of all the things in the world,i've never even seen g.bush smoke ,now clinton used cigars but i don't know that he smoked them.

when mc cain is president you won't have to worry about him playing golf ,i think the v.c. pretty much ended his golf career when they repeatedly broke both his arms.

jive man is a good name for you, jive a** would be better.
Don't run with the scissors, and don't start any unnecessary wars.

...advise......?

okay...my boyfriends old girl friend died a few days ago...and now he goes to the grave to see her everyday....i feel horrible not going summtimes and i think he gets angry..i decided to go with him a few times and he ignored me the whole time....i dunno why either way i end up feeling awkward....wut should i do?...advise......?
You need to sit and tell him how you feel. If you don't want to go then don't. I wouldn't go it would be a little awkward for the new g/f to go see the ex g/f not unless you were close or something. I really wouldn't want to go if he ignored me the whole time. I would tell him that maybe you should go on a break until he is better if this is really bothering you.

Sore throat a few hours after singing any advise?

I have been to ent and they found nothing. Its like something is at the back of my throat and I keep clearing it and my throat is sore. I am doing steam inhalations and resting my voice, any advice?Sore throat a few hours after singing any advise?
A lot of the time when you sing, your intensity outweighs your bodys capabilities...the vibrations in your throat and the pressure of the air bursting through your throat and out of your mouth can tear the tissues lining your esophagus. This is the case when you practice too much or like when you get REALLY into it and dont listen to your bodies signals that enough is enough.

I have chronic asthmatic bronchitis with copd and i am a singer, so i completely understand the pain that you are talking about.

COMPLETELY rest your voice, dont talk, hum, sing, laugh...anything.

If you have a gig coming up dont worry about it, just listen to the music and follow your part with your eyes on your sheet music. If you do practice or talk, then your body wont be able to heal itself and an infection could set it...your voice is irritated, let it cool.

In the meantime, dont eat or drink anything that has dairy products in it...this coats your throat and will make it more painful and difficult to heal. Drink things such as hot tea but try to avoid too much sugar.

Just be patient and dont rush the healing process.

Good luck and i hope that you feel better soon!!!Sore throat a few hours after singing any advise?
dissolve a aspirin in water and gargle with it the aspirin helpes to sooth the throat
Try some hot tea, lemon and honey... (equal parts honey and lemon to your taste.)
    then stop singing
don't drink coffee or tea before- water only

Anyone laid paving slabs , if so can you advise on how to please.?

im want to lay 12 standard size slabs to create a drive way for my motorbike but dont know how much sand ,cement ,gravel to buy . i intend to lay it on a grass surface ..Anyone laid paving slabs , if so can you advise on how to please.?
Unfortunately, you will have to get rid of the grass,as this isnt stable or level for the paving.Once the grass is gone get some 10 or 20mm gravel mixed with sharp sand and spread that down evenly. Then for your mortar mix, mix four parts sharp sand with one part cement, adding water until you get a creamy consistency and put enough down for one slab.Put your slab down, jiggling it slightly to take the mortar mix and move onto the next one.Leave about a 6mm gap between slabs.Once this is done, brush dry building sand as the grout into the gaps.Anyone laid paving slabs , if so can you advise on how to please.?
you shouldnt really lay them straight on a grass surface, they will not be flat, weeds will grow thru and if you want to run a motorbike on them, they could sink when it rains. The proper way to do it would be to dig the grass away, dig down by at least 4 inches and lay some Aggregate (small stones) if you can, whack the aggregate down so it gets solid then lay some sharpsand down (maybe mixed with cement so it goes hard), make sure it is level, whack it down and lay the slabs on that then point them up with a sand %26amp; cement mix and a pointing iron. It sounds like a lot of work but 2 of you could do it in a day and if you do it this way, it will last forever. For laying 12 slabs i would get about 5 bags of sand and 2 of cement but you might not use all of the cement, as for the aggregate, the amount depends on how deep you dig down.

    Hope that helps
Without at all knowing what YOU consider standard size, you're talking about a MotorBike, NOT a Motor Home.

Certainly YOU COULD grade away the grass; trench down 4 inches or so, lay out weed barrier, then add cushed limerock; over which you'll set your pavers, but WHY???

With all due respect to you, and certainly to others who answer; I've installed a lot of decks; and laid miles of patio pavers; and just don't see the need for you to go to that kind of expense or labor.

Assuming that the ground you're considering is fairly level; perhaps just load the area with foliage killer, remove the growth; rake it level; and lay down a weed barrier; then the pavers.

There are certainly many options for you that might be as effective in the context of what this is, and what you can do to achieve results.

    Steven Wolf
    go to www. E-how. com
if you are going to do it then do it properly .then you only have to do it once ..first clear the grass .this is a must ..then excavate down 100mm ..4 inches ..then fill this with hardcore ...you will need just under half a cubic metre ..or about 18cwt ..then you will need 4 bags of building sand .a bag of cement ..mix to a workable consistency ..not too wet but not too dry ..the same as for laying bricks ..then you use the FIVE DOT METHOD ..that is one blob in each corner and one in the middle ..this is the old fashioned and the best way to lay a slab....lay the slab on top of these dots and tap it down with the end of a lump hammer ..you wont have to tap too hard ..and if done right it will never move...do not let anybody walk or step on them for 24 hours
Dig out the grass in the area you're going to lay the slabs, dig deepish then fill the hole with rubble then cover with sand and cement...you can buy bags of this from B%26amp;Q called slab fix, usually 1 bag per slab, rake it level then lay your slab on top making sure it's level....It's really easy just take your time to ensure you get a level finish.
The best way to do this is to remove the turf, but if you cannot be bothered with this (on your own head be it) you can go over the top.

what you will have to do is, mix a semi-dry bed of grade A (sharp sand) with cement %26amp; water. ratio 5-1. - less than half bucket of water per mix.

you will then need to lay it 2 inches thick all over, putting all your falls in the screed.

you might be better running two battens horizontal to each other and level with each other on sand to make the 2 inch height, and then rule it off to get a level surface.

once you have done this, carefully drop the slabs on , tap into place and check levels again (there is always a discrepency in the thickness of slabs) and then grout. - your motorbike will look beautiful as well as safe on there.

a ton of grade a sand and around 6 bags of cement should suffice costing around 拢50.00

    Hope this helps

Tip - (added) do not use the dot and dab method on this type of job as it will create hollow spots.

The method I have suggested will create a full strong bed underneath which will not go anywhere.

My Father-in-law has been doing this for 50 years and when he goes back to do other work, they are as good as when they are laid. No cracks or nothing.

I have been doing this for 6 years with him, and they are fine. If however you were going to drive a car over it, then you will need a 6inch whacked down sub base.

Please advise me on how I can pledge to a sorority?

I graduated from college 5 years ago. I already know which sorority. But I just don't know what to do next. HelpPlease advise me on how I can pledge to a sorority?
The sororities usually has a rush meaning they ask new ppl to come and you mingle. like a party. Then they decide if they like you and they will send you something saying so.

Most sororities usually then give you tests to make sure your right for the sorority. If it's an interview and a few games: stay. If they tie you up, beat you up or tell you to do anything you don't want to do: leave. It's not for you.

But in the end, try to choose a sorority that will benefit you in the future.

    Good luck!

Why is it the health visitors and midwifes advise you not to use stage 2 or stage 3 formula?

They tell you just to increase the amount of stage one instead of moving to stage 2 however because you are just increasing the amount of stage one, that is alot of fluid to put in the baby's tummy instead of just a smaller dose of stage 2.

    Why is it?

Thanks xWhy is it the health visitors and midwifes advise you not to use stage 2 or stage 3 formula?
in my experience (i have 3 children) health visitors and midwives are very unhelpful and make you feel useless, so you do what u feel is right for your child, just tell the health visitor what she wants to hear and she will leave you alone, any advice i need about my children i get it from my mum,

and in my experience stage 2 milk was good for my first daughter as she was a very hungry baby but it did give her a few tummy problems,Why is it the health visitors and midwifes advise you not to use stage 2 or stage 3 formula?
I don't listen to my HV. All they do is tell you how to be a mum. And only you should know how to be a mum to YOUR child.

They're full of crap most of the time anyway.

Listen to your instincts, you obviously think you must be right otherwise you wouldn't be saying it to yourself and asking other people about it.

    Good luck to you!
i put my 2 boys onto stage 2 milk quite early (much to my hv disgust but hey there my kids she wasnt listening to them crying) as they were hungry they never had any problems with it but i do belive some babies can get colicky my kids never nor did they end up fat babies they perfect wieghts for there heights
Some babies grow really fat on stage too due to the high fat and calorie content.

My friends little boy went on stage 2 and 4 weeks, he is 9 months now and is 30lbs and wears clothes for a 2 year old!

  • I am interested in purchasing my first piece of rental real estate. Can you please advise me?

I have read some basic real estate books. I have minimal cash on hand, but can probably come up with $100-$150k in low interest loans for the down payment. The piece of property I'm looking at is currently unoccupied, but has a fair market rental value of $2200-$3000 a month. It is a two bedroom, two bath apartment in san diego. According to zillow.com, it has a value of about $700,000. However, I'm hoping I can make an offer for much less because it has been unoccupied for over six months.

Based on this information, what do you all see as the next step. Does this look like a favorable piece to invest in? Have I provided enough information? Thanks a million!I am interested in purchasing my first piece of rental real estate. Can you please advise me?
    There are several things here:

    1) Getting loans for the down payment can be good in the right situation, but you have to buy right. Remember, interest paid is an expense that will cut into your bottom line. Generally, you want to mortgage as much as you can but only as much as you can comfortably pay off through rental receipts. The more you borrow, the harder that is.

    2) You give a wide range of possible rental receipts. That tells me you don't know the rental market for this kind of property well enough. You should be able to a much closer number - ie $2500-$2750 or whatever.

You need to look at all expenses. First, you have to realize there will be some vacancies - no income while it is vacant, advertising costs, etc.

Then there are things like taxes and insurance, and you need a budget to handle repairs. Both short term repairs like plugged toilets, as well as long term expenses like eventually replacing carpet, roof, repainting and the like.

Investors normally figure 50% of the rental will be taken up in maintenance, vacancy expenses, administrative costs, property taxes and the like.

So if we take $2200 as rent, that means that $1100 would be available to pay for the mortgage.

    A 30 year mortgage for a $700,000 property is $4,657.12

    at $500,000 it is $3,326.51

    at $300,000 it is $1,995.91

This is all assuming you can get 7% financing on a non-owner occupied (investor) loan.

So from my perspective, this is a deal that would send me screaming away in terror if I wanted to do a rental.

If this was truly a $700,000 property, if I could buy for $600,000 then I'd consider buying to resell, but in today's market I'd have to feel incredibly strong about doing it.

    Also, be very careful about Zillow, or other on line sites for getting valuations. I've seen these in general (and Zillow in particular) to be off by as much as 30%. So much of determining valuation is based on comparing similar properties. Online services have a great difficulty comparing houses that have been rehabbed vs those that haven't, as well as other amenities that inpact on value, especially in ';transitional neighborhoods.';

So from a rental aspect I'd say this is a dog. It could still possibly be a good investment to purchase and resell, especially if there is some need of repair and rehab because it has been vacant for so long, but then we'd have to talk about other numbers.

Some general advice: Most areas have Real Estate Investment (REI) clubs. These are places where real estate investors, lenders, accountants, lawyers and others meet regularly to talk about issues and to network. If you are knew to the business it is a great way to rub elbows with people who work in real estate, make contacts and pick up real life knowledge.

You can find listings for real estate clubs in your area by visiting www.reiclub.com which is also a great resource for new REI.

Consider getting a mentor - or see about partnering up with an established real estate investor. If you can realistically get financing without a problem, there are loads of investors who could partner with you on a couple of deals. They provide the deal, you provide the financing and get to watch a couple deals happen while you make some money. After 2-3 deals like that you will have learned enough to do some on your own.

There is a widely accepted, 3-levels of real estate investment that goes like this:

If there is a deal you can't do - refer another investor to it (you'll get a referal fee)

If there is a deal but you can only do part of it - keep some of the profit and pass the rest on to another investor - either as a partner of assign the rights t them (wholesaling)

Do the deals that you can do by yourself.

Good luckI am interested in purchasing my first piece of rental real estate. Can you please advise me?
For normal financing, your down payment can't be ';borrowed.'; It has to be your own money. You'll need a stated income/asset loan or no-doc. Good luck...these types of loan are pretty much gone these days...especially on investment properties.

If you want to do full-doc, then you'll have to take out the loans, then let the money sit in your bank account long enough so you can provide the lender w/two months bank statements showing the $ is in there, but make sure the statements don't show the deposit...if the underwriter sees the deposit, you will then have to show where the $ came from and you'll be denied.
Your next step is to finalize the financial arrangements so you can offer the seller something verified and valid.
I would not trust zillow.com, they are never accurate and current. And don't make the mistake of not using a Realtor to represent you. You pay no fees to the Realtor anyway, the seller does. Have a Realtor run comparibles for you to see what the competition is to determine if list price for the property is great and below market, or high and above market, etc. You can also offer anything you want, you don't have to hope for that. You can only hope your offer is accepted. With the way things are right now, sellers are lucky if they even get an offer.
If your mortgage, taxes, insurance and upkeep are less than what you plan to get in rents, assuming you plan for vacancies during the year, its a good buy.

the for dummies or for idiots line of books have a landlording book, get it, and read it.

The best chapter is the one that shows you how to run the numbers to see if its a good investment or not.

Employment advise: how to leave or quit a job, earlier than expected?

I was recently hired as a part time employee at a local agency, and I have a bit of responsibilities that are solely mine. The pay is really not enough, and the job duties are below my competency (I have a BA); however, I accepted the offer with the knowledge that I probably will not stay for over four months.

I am currently going through testings and various interviews for full time and much better paying positions elsewhere. I know that the hiring at these places will take two+ months. Ideally I would be hired by the end of the 2007 year, but I really cannot say.

The people at the local agency are genuinely very nice, and I feel bad about the situation that I will probably have to put them in. There is only one woman training me, and she is just great. However, I have not told anybody about my situation since the full time position is still not for sure.

When should I let my employer know about my desires to leave?? Is it weird to be feeling guilty?Employment advise: how to leave or quit a job, earlier than expected?
You said yourself they know you will leave before long. Give them 2 weeks notice at the least, a month if you think they won't fire you on the spot or won't allow you to work the full month. It's normal to feel guilty when you leave a job if you care for the people there. I had something very similar happen, and I was crying as I gave my two-weeks' notice. They kept me on the two weeks and I even trained my replacement over the two weeks after that. And when SHE didn't work out, they hired me as a consultant again to train someone new. So, things never go exactly the way you think they will. But you need to be thinking of your future and your here and now and make the best decisions for your career and life. If that means leaving this part-time position, then it's just something that you'll have to find your way through. It helps to let them know how much you've enjoyed working for them and how much you appreciate all they did for you while even knowing you were only going to be there for a short time.Employment advise: how to leave or quit a job, earlier than expected?
    You're welcome. Good luck!!

First, make sure the potential employer does not contact your present employer before you have a chance to discuss it with them. You should give at least two weeks notice before leaving employment. Once you know you may be a short list candidate, I'd let my employer know that I am seeking full time work but will give them adequate notice.
You work for a temp agency and thats fine, thats part of the whole scheme. They know youre not permanent, and over qualified for the job. WHEN YOU KNOW the other job is permanent, THEN u tell the agency and give 2 week notice. The shoes will be filled.. dont stress it, but its normal to be feeling bad... but u do the right thing by giving proper notice and helping to train whoever replaces you will be the proper thing to do!! THEY WILL understand!! Besides, feeling guilty is only when u have done something wrong, and u havent!! Good Luck with the job!!
Its understandable to fell guilty. Just submit a letter giving them 2 weeks notice of your seperation. This will enable you to use the job as a reference in the future if you want to and you leave the company on decent terms.
When you have a firm offer from another employer ,

They will ask when you can start .

Tell them you need to give a 2 week notice to your current employer .

Employers hiring know this is the standard courtesy ,

And usually allow this unless there is some emergency .

( I even gave a start date of 2 months off one time )

Then give the temp agency the 2 week notice .

This is standard business protocol and you should get over guilt feelings ASAP . They are irrelevant to this situation .

    %26gt;
Don't feel guilty, you have to look out for yourself. I wouldn't say a word to anyone until you know you have another position. Try to give them a 2 week notice of when you will be quiting. Usually when you are newly hired they will ask when you can start. Just say that you need two weeks. That is the norm.

Thoughts/advise on installing new heating/air system?

I live in a duplex that has a pretty old heating/air system. The thermostat isn't exactly accurate anymore so we never really know when the system is going to kick on and off. That plus the poor insulation in the home causes our electric bill to go up more each year. I'm planning on doing whatever I can to fix the insulation but I'd really like to put in a new heating/air system. Does anyone know where I should start in for this project?Thoughts/advise on installing new heating/air system?
Why not start with the insulation and a $40 thermostat and see what that does? It's a lot cheaper and thermostats do go bad. If you replace the heat/AC it will be more efficient but the cost will take years to recoup. What I mean is how much a year can you really expect to save? Take that savings and divide it into the cost of the new system and see how many years it will take to pay for it. If the system still works well, then set the money aside and let the Heat/AC run until it dies, then replace it.

Any advise on Northwestern Mutual financial rep positions?

I am looking at this company, wanted to ask if anybody has any idea about salary, benefits, corporate culture, etc, Thank youAny advise on Northwestern Mutual financial rep positions?
I actually just quit as a Northwestern Mutual financial rep. It's a great company with a long and prestigious history. They're one of the most financially strong and stable companies in the world right now thanks to the fact that they're a mutual company and not a stock company and that less than 0.1% of the company's portfolio was exposed to the whole sub-prime mortgage mess that is toppling giants like Lehman and Morgan Stanley.

With that said, life as a financial rep is tough right now. At Northwestern the compensation is 100% commission and with the economy as screwed up as it is these days, people sure aren't rushing to buy insurance and investment products to put money in your pocket. I didn't stay long enough to experience the benefits but the retirement packages seem really solid. The corporate culture is also really nice, it truly is a family in that company and you can always count on another rep to help you out even if you've never met them before. The company as a whole is also very open to the religious beliefs of their employees, they open their annual meeting (all 10,500 employees meeting in Milwaukee every summer) with a prayer.

In the beginning you have to rely on your natural market (friends, family, former coworkers, etc.) to make sales pitches to. If you run out of natural market contacts you'll have to start cold calling. It all comes down to how hard you are willing to work and how good you are at building relationships (aka selling) and making new contacts.

Hope that helps, and if you decide to hire on with them good luck. Any advise on Northwestern Mutual financial rep positions?
It is only a viable opportunity if you know people. Go do something professional, build a stream of networks, then think of working with Northwestern. At first, I thought it was a hoax, but it is business where you are in the drivers seat on building your income potential. It is probably not for someone straight out of college, but rather for someone who has been in an industry can sell the products to people in that niche.

Are tlle kitchen countertops difficult to keep clean? I am planning kitchen remodel and need advise ?

what surface is the best, stainless steel, granite, corian? Are tlle kitchen countertops difficult to keep clean? I am planning kitchen remodel and need advise ?
Yes. Food gets in the grout and is tough to get out.

Granite is the current fashion, but it's expensive.

Corian is nice because if you damage it you can sand it out.Are tlle kitchen countertops difficult to keep clean? I am planning kitchen remodel and need advise ?
Do Silestone. It's stronger than granite, and it doesn't have to be sealed every year like granite. Looks a little like granite, but less ';marbled.'; It's gorgeous and performs amazingly well. We have it everywhere in the house and love it!
the best bang for your buck is corian from what i understand. Most of my uncles build houses and they all rave about how good of a product that is.
    Yep there a pain....

Go with Granit, Courian, or just a lamianate....
If you have the money, go Corian. If the tiles are seated properly, and the grouting is properly sealed, then it really isnt that hard to keep clean. Just takes yearly maintenance to keep it that way. I.E. re-applying the sealers..Corian, although it IS superbly easy to clean, it's like your glass topped stoves. Abrasive cleaners can scratch the surface..
yes pick something else would suggest corian
Don't do it. It is just too butt ugly.
If you're planning to remodel do it right and go Corian.
The grout can be tough to keep clean, and the tile surface might become scratched. Granite is nice, but very expensive. Corian is very durable. make it out of papermache on a stiff board.I've been asked to build a tellitubbie hill for a nursery can anyone advise the best way to do it.?
If you have resorted to asking through Answers how to do it - then I feel that you are not the person to do the job. Are you?

Having seen the inside of the Teletubbies's Hill, I suggest you contact NASA or British Aerospace for advice
need more info, size, materials available, your knowledge of building/diy etc
Ask noo-noo! (sorry, couldn't resist it lol)
    Papier Mache
Inside should be a layer of foam safely attached to a mould of chicken wire or safer alternative. build wire mould first and attach foam all around. Cover ALL exposed wire and wire ends, use a glue gun and maybe even duct tape. Then use newspaper strips dipped in PVA/WATER 50/50 mix and cover it inside %26amp; out. Do a layer a day and wait for each to dry before applying the next.

Once you're happy with strength of hill, add 'grass' (plastic grass squares perhaps) and stick fake flowers (%26amp; bunnies) all over. Or maybe just paint would do the trick.

It really depends what you have access to, what your budget is and the time constraints. I built a tree this way and it worked beautifully...twice..both for children!

Asked a girl to a coffee shop to hangout, Should I pay for her? Advise ?

I asked this girl who I went to school with to a coffee shop next weekend. About how much money should I take with me and should I offer to pay for her?

Any tips or advice would be appreciated. Asked a girl to a coffee shop to hangout, Should I pay for her? Advise ?
It depends. If you mean this as just hanging out as friends then you each pay for yourself. If you like this girl and you sort of want it to be a date then yes, you should pay.

Don't pay if you are not interested in her in a special way as she might get the wrong idea then.Asked a girl to a coffee shop to hangout, Should I pay for her? Advise ?
don't even offer. just ask her what she wants, order for her, and then pay for both of yours. she definitely would consider it a plus on your part
I think you pay for her , first ask her which kind of drink or anything els , you and ur friend meet for coffee , not much money around 20 box enough . Good luck ! have a good weekend .
    20 dollars minimum.

just to be safe and it would be very sweet

of you to pay for her.
    heck yes..you asked..
$20 and it would be sweet for you to pay. since you asked
take like 20 dollars alwaays pay for the girl and she will be soo flattered!
$30.00 minimum youll learn when you take a girl bring extra money!!!!! You asked you pay thats what a real man would do

I am 26 years old and want to get into real estate by spring. I have no Idea what to do. Can someone advise?

At the moment, I have no answers, no idea on what direction I need to go. I am working hard just to barely make it and I am tired and ready for a drastic change in my life. If anyone has excellent advise I am all ears.I am 26 years old and want to get into real estate by spring. I have no Idea what to do. Can someone advise?
Did you want to be a realtor, or buy real estate as an investment?

If you are barely making it, it will be extremely difficult as a realtor. If you go to a real estate company such as Century 21, and tell them you would like to be a realtor, they will send you where you need to go for training and help you get started. You may find a broker who will carry you until you start bringing in commissions. Look for at least a 55/45 split. (55 you 45 them Anything less is robbery. As you go, you will earn higher splits)

Then you pay her/him back. It's all commission. You make what you earn on your feet.. Be advised that it is also cut throat. Lots of sharks in that field. If you can deal with them, it's a good living in the right town.I am 26 years old and want to get into real estate by spring. I have no Idea what to do. Can someone advise?
As for the first answer about ';Tax Liens'; I hope you are not so immoral as to try to profit on the downtrodden.

So you want to make money in Real-Estate, huh?

The best thing you can do is pretty much the exact opposite of what all the radio commercials tell you.

#1 Don't fall prey to the ';no money down'; scams. If you don't have money to invest, you shouldn't be investing.

#2 Only borrow a fraction of what the lending institutions are willing to loan you. When you pay your loans on time, they are not making any money. They are often willing to loan you more than they know that you can pay because their existence is dependant on you missing payments.

#3 Find something close to home where the apartments are all rented out.

#4 Fixer uppers are great, but don't buy anything more than 30 years old (as it's pretty much guaranteed to have electrical and plumbing issues)

#5 ******* **** Always always ALWAYS get a good home inspection before sealing the deal. **** *********
all right so all u need to know is go to cummunity collge or go to ur boss and he will give u advice
Get the course from John Beck and do some research on Tax Lien Certificates...this is the easiest, most economical way to ';get into'; real estate. Good luck with that!

    Way to much advice above.

What you need is action steps.

    1) Open a Roth IRA at vanguard.com

    2) Put the $2000 in and set up a regular checking account withdrawal.

    3) Buy VFINX, the S%26amp;P 500 Index fund.

    Good Luck.

P.S. Nobody is going to disagree with this advice.Where to find good free stock investment advise?
Information is the key... take your advice from many, many different articles posted on finance/yahoo or moneycentral/msn ( they post articles from about 15 different sources...learn to just browse through some)

'; Fast Money'; on CNBC ( 7:00 central) has four very down to earth traders giving thoughts and opinions ( I've made a little money on their advice)

Another way of going about it is a '; fantasy portfolio';... experience is the best teacher, etc... go to:

Here check out this website it has several links with more information: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en%26amp;sa=X%26amp;鈥?/a>California, just what is this Proposition 82?
Prop 82 gives a free, high quality preschool education to every four-year old in California. It provides trained, credentialed teachers in every classroom, more parental involvement, and strict accountability and enforcement to ensure that every dollar is dedicated to preschool.

Prop 82 will help more children read and learn, which will strengthen our schools and improve education for all our kids.
To make preschool available to all children witch I think is a good Idea.
It seems to be our (CA) way of getting a ';HEAD COUNT'; of the pre-school aged children in an attempt to secure the funds that will be required to give these children a more adequate learning environment when they start kindergarten. If we start them at age 4, then by age 5, they SHOULD have the basic skills required to start regular school %26amp; the State will ALREADY have the funding available from the Federal Level to assure 100% of the standard levels of education to already be in place by the time the 4 year olds reach 5. It should prove to be a win/win in regards to the simple fact that funding that has been earmarked for one thing will no longer needed to be re-routed to something other than what it was ORIGINALLY INTENDED for (this is happening NOW, %26amp; it needs to Stop).
here is the long and short of it..
Proposition 82 is a preschool for all initiative in CA for quality education for 4 year olds.

My husband and I want to start trying for a baby I need advise from women who have irregular periods!?

Because my periods are messed up, sometimes they come every 30 days 28 days or 64 days. My past 3 periods have been way off, I dont even know when Im ovulating. And in the past 4 months no signs of pregnancy and we always have unprotected sex and we are both healthy and young. My husband and I usually have sex every night but the past 2 weeks we have been having sex every 2 or 3 days so more sperm can build up, to increase our chances. I really need some advise on how to get pregnant, when Im ovulating? Or has this ever happened to any women out there. Honestly Im not in rush to get pregnant, but I just want to know what is up with my body and why are my periods so irregular. What should I do! Or is there nothing to do? Any simillar stories or advise. (serious people only)My husband and I want to start trying for a baby I need advise from women who have irregular periods!?
My wife and I tried for almost a year, and ended up going to a fertility specialist. Long story short, we found out we were finally pregnant when we went to the specialist. We didn't need them after all! It took a long time for us though, and she had similar problems with very irregular periods. The specialist diagnosed her with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). We were about to start treatment when we discovered she was pregnant. The point being, it can take a long time to get pregnant, but keep at it. You may decide to see a specialist, and there are things they can do to help.

    Good luck!

~KyleMy husband and I want to start trying for a baby I need advise from women who have irregular periods!?
My periods were really irregular, I was skipping the 4 months of summer plus they never came at the same time every month the rest of the year either.

My dad is an ND (natural doctor) and he told me to make sure I was drinking half my body weight in ounces of water every day, %26amp; to quit eating anything with chemicals, refined sugar (including high fructose corn syrup) or white flour. And to make sure to eat at least 2 pieces of fresh fruit every day, a large salad %26amp; lots of whole grains (ezekiel 4:9 bread is awesome since you don't have to cook them), 1 tablespoon of flax oil is really good for you too, when used everyday, your skin glows %26amp; your hair shines %26amp; moisturizing is a thing of the past!

I tried it, and not only are my periods EXACTLY regular, I don't get sinus headaches anymore %26amp; I have lost weight. I'm not saying that I don't ever deviate from the diet, but I try really hard to stick to it %26amp; only every now %26amp; again go off it.
    Hello!

You could ask your doctor about chaste berry extract tablets... they help to regulate your periods and increase fertility.

    they also reduce pms.

Hope this helps you out and good luck with getting preggers!

    Witty xx
I had this same problem, the first I did was to quit trying so hard, my OB GYN told me that if you are stressed out you are less likely to get pregnant. Next, go to the local drug store and buy an ovulation kit. This is like a thermometer that tells you when you are ovulating, which is the best time to try. I discovered that there were time I was ovulating even when I didn't have my period. There are other medical things you can do as well but i suggest you start with the meter. Some procedures are expensive and they are very trying both physically and emotionally. Just remember to relax and not get in a hurry you aren't necessarily going to get pregnant the first night you use the kit. Have fun trying to you can relax more if you try different positions and don't necessarily look at as making a baby and worrying about is each time going to get you pregnant. And to sometimes different ';angles'; help with sperm flow.
going on birthcontrol to regulate your cycle is the worst idea I have ever read... sorry to whoever posted that... but honestly. Women find it harder to regulate their cycles once coming off of bc due to the hormones... So, as a fellow irregular cycler I can give you some great advice that has helped me conceive twice in the last two years :)

For starters: You dont have to limit your sexual activity, those sperm regenerate within a matter of hours, and you can have sex multiple times a day if you want. Remember that a woman with a normal cycle (27 days) only has a 20% chance of conceiving, even if she has sex on her ovulation day. But when you have a funky cycle like yours, or my own... you need to know when that day is! Especially because it doesn't come around as often.

A great way to find this out is to chart your cycles with your body temperature, this will pin point your fertile days, and your actual ovulation day! After over 18months of trying, I finally started charting, and was pregnant only 2 months later! You can find tons of information on this website: http://www.fertilityfriend.com

Not only is it chopped full of information, but they have a wonderful message board where you can get ahold of many ladies going through the same thing. And its free. The site will teach you all you need to know about your cycle, how to chart, and what the signs mean. I hope it helps you out as much as it has help me. :) feel free to message me if you have any questions. I am always happy to help someone who is ttc
i read a book called taking control of your fertility, by toni weschler. she was very informative and helped me to know when i was ovulating and everything...she teaches you things they should teach in a class, it is not a hard read, she is very easy to read and understand...she really helped me understand my body and its functions better...with this book we realized that i was not ovulating and went and saw my ob/gyn and i had to go on clomid...did become pregnant on that...some advise don't get too frustrated at first when you dont become pregnant....it may take a few months....just remain calm...its almost like finding your mate it happens when you are not expecting it to....God Bless
I would go talk to Dr about getting the ovulation testing done,to see when you most likely to be ovulating. Maybe you are just trying too hard too. I know of someone who wanted a baby so badly and they kept doing everything they could think of to get pregnant, finally she went to the Dr and he said to forget about it,and wham..............she was pregnant in two months, but honestly would go talk to Dr about that ovulation testing............good luck...........:)
Go on birth control to regulate your period...And then try...Or see your gyn...See what the recommendation is...
    here is a site.

    good luck!!
Well first off, just to let you know don't give up hope. I am four weeks pregnant and been trying for almost one year. I myself have had very irregular periods. Have you been to a gyno? Well I went one year without a period so I went to a doctor and found out I wasn't ovulating very well, or very much. So I started birth Control to get me regulated. After that I have been on metformin for 5 months, and this was my second month on Clomid. I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant. One thing that I did was not have sex every day. That is good you figured that out. Usually the reason for irregular periods is you are not ovulating or not ovulating very well. They can fix that. Good Luck to you!

    Any other questions email me

    steph_kay33@yahoo.com
I have the same problem with my cycle. It ranges from 22 days, to 34 days. But we tried for 1 1/2 years to get pregnant, when we were unsuccessful, we went to a doctor. That's the first step weather or not you are in a rush or not (to get pregnant). The second is to get on a multivitamin with folic acid.

There is one post that says to get on bc then go off to regulate periods. Although this does work for some women, it didn't work for me. And through testing the doctors found that although I was bleeding like a normal cycle, I wasn't ovulating like I should be. -There was no way for me to know this w/o having tests done.

So there are steps (~ and this is for those with or without regular cycles)

1.) Set up an appointment with your OB (make ur hubby go with you!)

~at this time you need to address any problems such as irregular cycle.

2.) Start taking a multivitamin with folic acid

~my OB provided this for almost my entire pg

3.) Believe it or not, stop trying so hard, and stop thinking about the problems.

~once my husband, and I (and our doc) gave up getting pg, that's when it happened
I think you can go to you obgyn and get hormone shots my cousin tried for 2 years then she took the shots and was pregnant within 4 to 6 months i think
Start charting your BBT. See what patterns you have and if you are even ovulating. You could be having anovulatory bleeding. After 2-3 months of charting with a clear ovulation if you are not pregnant go see your doctor. Bring the charts with you.

If you need help with charting let me know or check out the book ';Taking Charge of Your Fertility';. Also, the website www.fertilityfriend.com helps a bunch and is free.

I have irregular periods from being on birth control and my body has not figured itself out yet so I chart to see when I ovulate.

I need to transfer a rose bush due to a house move. Please advise on cuttings, pruning, moving a bush?

Prune back hard, dig as big a root ball as you can. Keep the roots damp during move, and replant asap.I need to transfer a rose bush due to a house move. Please advise on cuttings, pruning, moving a bush?
Prepare the plant for the shock of being moved as far in advance as you can.

Create a new root ball by digging the spade full depth into the soil approx 1ft all around the plant stem. This will cut some of the roots allowing them to regrow in preparation for the move. The plant will continue to be nourished by the roots that were not cut by the spade.

Additionally, water the plant with liquid seaweed or Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy. Both of these will give the plant stamina for the move and reduce the sense of shock.

    .

On the day of the move, dig the remaining roots out of the soil and then replant according to the instructions others have given. The root ball may well fall apart, but the new roots that have grown in situ will support the plant as it adapts to its new environment. Continue to water with the liquid seaweed manure or Rescue Remedy for a couple of weeks until the plant settles down.

This method can be used for moving any plant in the garden.

Good Luck in your new home.I need to transfer a rose bush due to a house move. Please advise on cuttings, pruning, moving a bush?
Cut back as much as possable then transfer to a pot of compost untill you can plant in a new possition
    ******* Hello. I am a Certified Master Gardener. *******

If you are going to move the bush, do the following:

When it's cool, dig up the rosebush with a long, narrow TRANSPLANTING SPADE. This will work much better than a shovel.

Place rosebush in a large plastic container which will accommodate its rootball without damaging the rootball.

Fill the container to one inch below the rim and press soil firmly down with your hand.

    Water the potted rosebush well.

Transplant it to its new location when the weather is cool, or early in the day, or just prior to evening. Be sure to water it in well.

Apply either Bandini or Vigoro Rose fertilizer, acccording to package directions, then water in fertilizer well.

    I sincerely hope this helps.

    PAMELA J.
Concerning cutting I have a lot of super answers to this question, which I asked tonight. See my question about roses just below. Good luck moving house, In just did and it was a lot more stressful than I had anticipated.
best to do when dormant,,, cut as far back as you can ( perhaps 1/3 at a time) dig as big of a rootball as you can, get it in the new hole as soon after as you can, upgrade the new hole as much as possible (compost), use liquid seaweed and fish emulsion (at any plant store ) for every planting
Roses are very sensitive, but I have successfully moved an old-fashioned hybrid tea rose using the following method:

If possible have a hole already prepared at the new house.

Pick a time that is early on an overcast day for best results.

Dig around the bush trying to keep as much root material as possible.

Do not allow the roots to be exposed to the air or sun.You can do this by wrapping wet newspapers around the root ball immediately. (Do not let the papers dry out)

Transfer your bush to its new location and add transplant fertilizer as soon as you can.

During the first season, keep the soil moist.

I trimmed off any buds in the first year season and did not add fertilizer that would encourage more leaf growth so that all the plant's energy went into re-establishing a healthy root system.

It sounds like it is a lot of work, but is actually not as difficult as many people would have you believe. It's just important to be prepared before you start. I had to do this in the heat of summer and my rose survived.
CUT THE ROSE BUSH WAY BACK. KEEP THE CONTAINER VERY WET. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD DRAINAGE. IF YOU LIVE NEAR A DITCH OR STREAM, PUT A SHOVEL OF THE MUCKY DIRT ON TOP OF THE DRAINAGE MATERIAL.THAT SHOULD KEEP IT THRU IT'S SHOCK.
This is more a question for the ladies, pruning a bush
Don`t bother taking cuttings from a rose but you should be able to move most plants if you dig around and try not to disturb the roots, leave all the soil around the root ball and put in a big pot or wrap in a black bin liner. Water well and keep in the shade until you put it into it`s new home.
Roses are one of the heartiest plants the world has known. You'd have to really try hard to kill one.
Assuming you're moving before the ground is hard-frozen, here is my method:

    1) Right now, start shaping a rootball. Using a sharp spade, cut straight down all around the plant at approximately the dripline.

Leave the plant in the ground, and continue to water.

    2) When you've got your new place: Dig a hole at the new place adequate for the size of the rootball. Water thoroughly if the ground is dry just before you're ready to plant.

    3) Prune the rose, finish digging it up, and move it to the new house; plant ASAP, and continue to water until hard freeze.

If you're in a severe climate, do the usual... mulching, Minnesota tip, or whatever works well in your new area.

    ------------

If you can't plant the rose within 24 hours of digging, transplant it into a large pot (a 5 gallon frosting bucket from the local bakery works well -- drill some drainage holes in the bottom), and transplant into the ground as soon as possible. If you must hold the plant over winter in a severe climate, wait till temps are routinely down to 20oF or so, then water the rose well and store in an insulated box in an unheated garage, shed or basement till spring. Water once a month or so during winter. Plant ASAP in the spring.

The insulated box can just be a big cardboard box with a piece of styrofoam on the bottom and leaves or straw

filling the spaces around the pot.

My favorite work from home opportunity is YTB.

    Here are the facts:

    1) YTB is a publicly traded, 7 yr. old company who is on target to be the largest internet provider of travel by 2011. When you consider Barry Diller paid in excess of $5 bill for Expedia 4 yrs ago, you gain perspective of the size of the market.

    2) There are currently over 145,000 company reps and the number is going to double in the next year.

    3) YTB has gone international. They are now in Canada, The Bermudas, and The Bahamas with plans to branch into Europe and Asia in the near future.

How and why is this happening?

    1) travel industry exploding because of baby boomers

    2) internet commerce exploding

    3) company leadership

    4) comp plan

I have tried so many of these work at home opportunities (and tons of money out the window).

The bad news is that there are many, many companies out there that are complete scams eagerly waiting to get your money. The good news is that there are home based businesses out there that are genuinely legitimate.

There are two ways to work at home:

1 - A work at home job - these are usually hard to get and pay very little. You are still working for someone else and will only make what they want you to make. It is a job so there will be no up front costs.

    2. A home based business. If you can find the right one, you will reap the rewards forever. This is your business just like a brick and mortar business but at a fraction of the cost. You will usually have to pay an upfront costs ($10-$500). There is usually a monthly fee to cover websites or other company overhead. Which is very minimal compared to if you were to have a brick and mortar business (electric, sewer, inventory, etc.). There are no limits to the amount of money that you can make and the business is usually willable and sellable!

After trying and trying I finally decided on Answer #2. It seems like I made a career out of failing at home based businesses before I found the right one. I enjoy helping people make informed decisions about working at home.

I have been very successful at working at home for several years now. It is something that you have to put your mind to and be determined to succeed not matter what. There are many naysayers and negative people out there. You just have to put the blinders on and go full speed ahead with whatever you choose to do.

Feel free to email me and we can discuss this further (I promise I won't try to sell you anything : )
You should join BeautiControl. It has an inexpensive sign up cost, and you get that money doubled with products for you to try and demo. These products are so wonderful that they sell themselves. The company also likes to reward you with jewelry, cars, trips, etc just to say job well done. It is a fantastic company that I have seen change so many lives. Email me with any questions.
its very very difficult to make a decent income while doing data entry from home, and you're unlikely to get the names of genuine employers in a public place like this.

I'd recommend doing a search of the previous 'best answers' on yahoo, I got some good information that way.
    I suggest trying this website:

Advise for a carribean cruise for honeymoon?

Has anyone done one before and can give advise which company to go with and what to do and what not to do?

Were looking to go for about 10 days in August :)

Thanks!Advise for a carribean cruise for honeymoon?
I have been on about 20 cruises with 4 different cruise lines, Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean and here's some information to help you decide.

You will always get the best price if you book very early and early means 9 to 12 months or more in advance. You can book on most any cruise line web site by paying a deposit of $250 to $350 per person, depending upon the length of the cruise, and then pay the balance no later than 60 to 75 days before the cruise (depending upon the cruise line). Anyway, if you want to go in August then right now is a great time to book for a good price.

I have found also that great deals can be had by going directly to the cruise line web sites and looking for their specials. Most will have their specials prominently displayed on their home page but I have found that Royal Caribbean and Carnival have the best web sites for this.

Another factor to consider is to be flexible on your date of travel. Consider going when there is a special. Many times identical cruise itineraries can very in price by hundreds depending upon the date. So look at different dates other than September. And remember that June through the end of October is the Hurricane season in the Caribbean. If you book a cruise during that period its a good idea to get travel insurance.

Most cruises are done by cruise lines like Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, Princess, Celebrity, Cunard, Holland America, and Disney. Most of the ships for these lines are now 1500 to 2500 passenger ships. The ships are big but things are so well managed that you really don't feel crowded on them. Prices on these ship can be as low as $800 per person for a 7 day inside cabin and about $1200 for a balcony cabin. Shorter cruises, like 3, 4, or 5 days, are proportionally less; like maybe $400 to $800 per person. Sometimes people get confused by the categories on ship that agents or the web sites refer to. Categories are simply a listing of the different types of cabins on the ship by size, location and amenities. Categories are the price structure.

There are 4 basic types of cabins on ships, inside, outside, balcony and suites. The cheapest cabins offered are always the inside cabins; those without a window or porthole. The inside, outside and balcony cabins are generally about the same size on each ship, but may vary by ship and cruise line.

The terms ';cabin'; and ';stateroom'; mean the same thing; the cruise industry prefers stateroom. The standard cabin that most people get is generally between 175 and 200 Sq feet, about the size of a 9 by 12 ft home bedroom (balconies are about 45 to 55 sq ft). Each cabin has a two beds which can be made into a queen, a bathroom with a shower stall, a closet and some drawer space, a TV and telephone, a safe for valuables, a mini-refrigerator, and a life jacket for each passenger.

The type of cruise you have can vary by cruise line. Carnival is the fun ship, they are low priced, and are the party cruise line that most young folks and first time cruisers take (ages 20 to 35) who want to party, party, party. If that鈥檚 what you want then Carnival is the one.

Disney has good ships (but just 2 ships right now) but is primarily for kids, and families with kids. It does have adults only areas on ship, but the kids are still there on ship. I would not recommend going on Disney unless you do not mind being around a lot of kids. Also, since Disney has only two ships your options with them are limited.

Princess, Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Celebrity, and Norwegian tend to have people who have cruised many times and are in the 40 and over age group; a more reserved crowd. Although the crowd is more reserved the ships are still just as much fun. Among these, Holland America tends to have the oldest cruiser; primarily people in the 60 and up age group.

Celebrity and Princess also tend to be more upscale and Royal Caribbean tends to be more family oriented. Norwegian is also family oriented but is more casual with its ';freestyle cruising'; Freestyle simply means that you do not have to select a time to go to dinner each day; you just go whenever you want after about 6:00 PM. It also means that the traditional ';formal night'; which are really requested attire on ships, is more like ';dress up if you want to night';. Actually Princess and Holland America have this same dining option and Princess calls it Personal Choice Dining and Holland has their own name for it.

    MOST ACTIVITIES:

There are two other factors to consider when planning a cruise (1) what activities are on ship, and (2) what port stops will be made that I will enjoy.

For adults there are always pools and hot tubs and many ship have a Solarium (a cover area) with a pool and hot tubs for adults only. This is in addition to the regular pool and hot tubs for everyone. Some ships have water slides. Ships have great gymnasiums with a variety of equipment. The RC's Freedom and Liberty have THE best gyms I have ever seen on ships.

The cruise director will organize games and activities around the pool, especially on ';at sea'; days when there is no port stop. They may also have a midnight party on the pool deck with a buffet, music and dancing one night. Each night there will be a show and it is usually run twice so that no matter what time you go to dinner you can see the show. If you go on the Royal Caribbean ships with the ice skating rink they will have a free ice show that is fabulous.

If you are a gambler there will be a casino, except on Disney ships. Each day you will receive a ';newsletter'; type flier in your cabin that details the time and location of all of the activities on ship the next day. So you will know what is happening and where. Also, most ships will have a channel on the TV in the room that recaps activities for the current and next day. If there is a port stop the next day most ships will have a presentation in the show room or a lounge that talks about where to shop; then this is repeated on TV.

Royal Caribbean is the cruise line that has the most activities on its ships. In addition to multiple pools and hot tubs, you will find, depending on the ship, the rock climbing wall, a full sized basketball/tennis court, a mini-golf course, an ice skating rink, a roller blade track, a water slide, and on the new Freedom class ships (Freedom of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas) a flowrider that allows you to surf on a boogie board right on the ship. RC's ships also have great gyms and the best gym I have ever seen is on the Freedom (and Liberty).

    CARIBBEAN CRUISE ITINERARIES

There are really three basic types of itineraries for the Caribbean. Western Caribbean cruises typically go to Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Jamaica and a private cruise line island. If you go to Cozumel there is the opportunity to buy a tour to see Mayan ruins, if that's your interest. If you go to Jamaica the two main attractions are a river raft float trip (not rapids) and the Dunn's River Falls climb. If you go to Grand Cayman you will likely want to go to 7-Mile Beach ( a short taxi/mini-van ride ($4-$5 per person each way), or do a swim with the dolphins/stingrays tour.

Cruises to the Eastern Caribbean typically go to St Thomas, St Maarten, a private cruise line island and maybe another island like Tortola or Puerto Rico. If you want to do a lot of shopping then pick a cruise with St Thomas as one of the port stops. St Maarten is also mainly a beach and shopping stop.

Most Caribbean cruises have a private island stop where the ship takes food ashore for an all day beach party with games and entertainment. Royal Caribbean has THE best private island I have ever been to at Labadee, Haiti. Its a huge place that has multiple beaches and many activities. RC's ships the Freedom and The Liberty which do both the Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries both have stops at Labadee.

The Southern Caribbean cruise itineraries typically start in Puerto Rico and go either to Aruba, Curacao, and St Thomas and St Maarten, OR they go to the southern Caribbean islands like Barbados, Grenada, Antigua, St Lucia and maybe St Thomas and/or St Maarten. The main difference between these two itineraries, aside from the different islands, is the Aruba cruise has two ';at sea'; days with no port stops, while the other has a port stop about each day.

Having taken all of these type Caribbean cruises I prefer the Western Caribbean or the Southern Caribbean to Aruba. I like the Western Caribbean port stops better and I like the at Sea days on the Aruba cruise.

Another Caribbean itinerary is the Panama Canal which typically has port stop

Then you have the 3 and/or 4 day cruises to the Bahamas which typically have a day at the cruise line's private island. And finally, another option would be a cruise to Bermuda. Those depart from many cities along the East Coast US from Boston to Florida ports. The cruises are usually 5, 6, or 7 days but the 5 and 6 day cruises are plenty enough time to see and enjoy Bermuda.Advise for a carribean cruise for honeymoon?
I'll say check out Norwegian Cruise that travels to the Caribbean the Atmosphere is lovely. And is perfect for a honeymoon.
skip the cruise, too much food and you only have a few hours once you get to port

    my advice? go to: www.gcbc.com

it is a nice destination, no I do not own the place!

btw, answer above about Aug temp is wrong, temps are constant yearround in the Caribbean, about low 80s always
I did Norwegian Mexican Riviera in December, loved the places, out of Los Angelas (I'm from Mass), went to Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallart and Ixtapa, it was in the 80's-90's in December so I can imagine it would be REALLY hot in August, but it would still be fun and worth it, the only thing is, I wouldn't do Norwegian, I'd do Royal Carribean something similar with the stops, Norwegian was fun, but there's definitely better, make sure you get a room with a little balcony also.

I am having trouble with new RAM on my computer, please can you advise?

I have just bought some new RAM for my windows Vista computer, i used to have 1GB of it but i am trying to upgrade to 4GB and i have two 2GB sticks. I got them today and put them both in my computer and when i fired it up it says i have 2.5GB RAM, i tried them both on their own and it came up with 2GB for each, i am stuck with what to do, please help, thank-you.I am having trouble with new RAM on my computer, please can you advise?
32bit operating systems will use all 4GB but will not show all of it because it is being used for the kernel. This is normal. Now. When you are starting your computer if you are looking at the Black screen with a bunch of information it should have a ';memory test'; and it should show something like 4194304Kb OK. If that is the case...your memory is fine. If not....check for a BIOS update and that should solve the problem.

64bit operating systems will recognize the full amount of RAM with no issues.I am having trouble with new RAM on my computer, please can you advise?
That is the max amount of ram that windows vista will recognize. You can out as much as you want in, and it will run faster. Vista wont realize that you have it though.
your computer probably is not built to handle that much memory

it happens. my computer maxes out at 2 gb

you would need a new processor to go any higher
the ram is not compatable with your machine ..it seems the motherboard will only read 1 gb per slot not 2 go to www.crucial.com and run the scan to find out what your pc will take
Your maximum ram for the mother board is probably 2.5 GB so that is all it will be able to use.

If I present my insurance card to the doctors office, are they supposed advise me whether I am covered ?

I recieved a bill from a doctor visit in Dec 2004. I called to inquire why I was just getting the bill now. They stated the claim was declined by my insurance 5 times. The insurance company advised me that the doctor seen was not on my insurance. There are 2 doctors in the office that are.I asked the office manager why I was given a non participating doctor and she said he is under my insurance but not the network open insurance. I don't understand and the doctors office claims I should have known it would'nt be covered. If I present my insurance card to the doctors office, are they supposed advise me whether I am covered ?
It is the patient's responsibility to know how their insurance works. I do insurance billing and I do it all day and I still don't understand how some of it works. Everyone's policy is different, and some people have exclusions that the doctor's office can't possibly know about. Sometimes when calling a patient's insurance company to find out about benefits, I get hit with confidentiality disclaimers, and disclaimers that the call is no guarantee that a claim will be paid, and that benefits are determined at the time the claim is filed. Read your policy and call and ask questions of your insurance company, otherwise I've found that it's a real crapshoot!!!!!If I present my insurance card to the doctors office, are they supposed advise me whether I am covered ?
Yes, Insurance Company's can tell you which doctors they will pay and which ones they won't. Please go back thru your policy and read the fine print.
    yes they do.
No. It's the patient's responsibility to know if the service they are about to recieve will be covered by their insurance. Hell, I barely trust the lady at the front desk to be able to give me my next appt date, let alone udnerstand my insurance.
most receptionists will tell you if the insurance covers it, as they have the list of approved insurance holders they deal with. however, this may be limited because you only speak english and so cannot pc ask the question

An internet-based business has obvious advantages such as the ability to work from home and create residual income. It's finding the right business opportunity that can be tricky.

I am a health and fitness professional that has had great success with a company called Vemma. It is a company that uses what they have termed ';hybrid marketing,'; to create brand awareness amongst the mainstream. I have used their liquid nutrition program not only to replace a $1700/month pharmaceutical that I was having to take, but also to create a great source of residual income through simple word of mouth testimonial. The website is www.myvemma.com/lernerfitness and if you would like to look more into the business opportunity, I would suggest checking out www.myvtraining.com/lernerfitness Finally, take a look at www.network-marketing-business-school.co… It is an excellent information source that is unaffiliated with any company. Good luck.
    Hi Ashley,

I work from home as an online fitness coach. I have thousands of clients across the country that I work with via email, message boards, chat, and phone.

I even mentor new coaches and teach them how to grow their business. I've listed some links below that give further information on becoming an online fitness coach.

I very strongly recommend a direct sales company especially one that has products that people are already using and are consumable. Watkins has all of that and more. With Watkins you can earn money by selling products through Good Tastings home party plan if that interests you. You can also earn money by transferringg purchases you are already purchasing at the grocery store and showing other people how to do the same thing. And joining Watkins with my team, provides additional benefits such as a free training website and this free prospecting website that will give you more details about Watkins. http://www.tsginfo.com/index.php?rc=PK4997
Yes, I would recommend affiliate programs for someone just starting out and wanting to venture into the Work At Home Industry.

What makes Affiliate Programs so appealing is the fact that most of the time there is no risk (no investment but time required) and that you can choose which product or company you want to represent.

    Hi Ashley.

Yes, there are many scams online so be careful. Most of them make promises that are too good to be true and some are just plain scams / lies.

I have successfully done real customer service work at home, on the phone, for the last 5 years. It is not my full time work (I'm a minister full time), but a great part time supplement.

I make $10 - $12 / hour for answering inbound customer service / sales calls.

I am able to select my hours 24/7 and I'm able to work for large companies like Pizza Hut, HSN, Sears, and just about ANY infomercial.

I've been there and done that with many work at home scams so I consider myself an expert on that too, unfortunately!

There are 5 companies that really do help you start your own home based virtual call center.

Contact me and I'll be glad to send you more thoughts and some feedback.

    God bless,

SharedReviews is a social network that allows you to connect with other consumers to share and learn about real consumer product experiences

    Step 1: Create your Profile

Your profile is who you are, and although privacy is of the utmost importance, we encourage you to share the basic facts of your life, such as how many kids you have, what you do for a living, where you're located, how much you earn, and other factors that allow readers to understand not only the experience you are sharing, but what type of person you are so they can better empathize with you as a person, thus making your reviews more tangible and more valuable.

    Step 2: Create Reviews

Review anything that you'd like from any one of our categories. Remember that the ';tone'; of your review is important, try to make it as enriching as possible. Imagine telling your best friend about a new product you bought, whether you love or hate it, that's what will garner you the most value for sharing your thoughts. Don't forget rich media! Real photos you've taken, videos you've recorded and even custom pieces of info such as your own rating terms make your reviews stand out.

    Step 3: Socialize

The more friends and groups you join, the more likely it is that members who will vote when you post a review. Having an established network of friends on SharedReviews will help get votes for your reviews, and those votes translate to a higher ranking for the review in a category at the end of the month. The higher your ranking, the more you earn.

Not only can it be rewarding and fun to connect with your fellow consumers, those relationships will also be lucrative to everyone in the network.

    Step 4: Cast your votes

Voting is at the center of how we share revenue with our reviewers, but it's also how we reward those who are willing to go beyond creating reviews to fuel the SharedReviews engine. Everyone who votes on a review that generates revenue earns a portion of the money earned from that review.

For example, if a review earns $20 one month, $10 of that is split between all the voters (Check out our diagram of how it works below). With only three little rules to remember when placing your votes, you can end up sharing in the earnings of 100s of reviews.

    Voting Rule #1

You have a limited number of votes to cast in each category per month. The number of votes is determined by your ShareScore.

    Voting Rule #2

For obvious reasons, you can't vote for your own review.

    Voting Rule #3

You can only vote for a particular review once, ever.

    Step 5: Earn Revenue

Each month, we share 50% of every dollar we make off of the experiences of our community. This includes both advertising revenue from the site itself, as well as lucrative syndication deal with third-party networks that place SharedReviews on other sites. The key is that you get paid when we get paid and each month the process starts so the earning potential never stops!

I tried over 15 opportunities in the course of 2 years so I have some great information for you plus a list of top 10 work at home scams!

I am a mother of two little girls who are actually tugging on my arm as I write this so I will try to be brief. Many people are looking for work from home companies. All the scams definitely create a big problem but also, there is a problem of people misunderstanding the difference between work from home ';jobs'; and work from home opportunities. There really are not work from home “jobs”. To get that you have to start working for a company in their offices first, then they MAY allow you to take the job home.

Most of the work from home opportunities that are legitimate offers are not an hourly pay type job. They are business opportunities that help you in starting your own business from your home. What you should do first is to decide if you are simply looking for an hourly rate type job or if you are looking for more of an opportunity for additional income such as what you would make in your own business being your own boss from home. Small home businesses have some small costs involved, less than $500 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $1000-$5000. It doesn’t cost that much to start and run a home business so you shouldn’t pay it.

If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are. I tried them many a times and 3 weeks later I had to buy this and 6 weeks later that. After 6 months these “free businesses” had cost me over $800 on average.

After trying 15 things I now work about 18-25 hours per week for a National Medical Healthcare Company. This is a nationally known and reputable home business which is what you need to make sure you are looking for. I have been with the company almost a year and a half now and I make over $4500 a month! In your first month, depending on how many hours you can work, I have seen people make anywhere from $500 to over $2500. And your income will increase each month because you get paid residual income as well.

The best part is they have 401(k), direct deposit, life insurance and a benefits package most of which you get from day one. In addition, there are no products, no hard selling or pushing, no cold calling, no home parties and no telemarketing! That was VERY important to me. I absolutely love working with them and I can't believe I am making what I am making and in so few hours per week. The neat thing is there are other people on your team that you work with so you are never alone. You have great team support and you get to know the other people on your team pretty well.

I was a bit apprehensive at first because I know a lot of companies are not legit but this company is the number one National Medical Benefits Company in the US. They are a member of the US Chamber of Commerce, and the National Association of Dental Plans and the owner of the company actually sits on the board of The Consumer Health Alliance to which we are also members. Also they were featured in “The New York Times”, “Wall Street Journal” “Time Magazine” “American Medical Review” and even in the May 2008 issue of “Parents Magazine”. Even “60 Minutes” did a big special on this home based business.

Even more then all this is they are accepted at over 100,000 retailers nationwide. These are fortune 500 companies like Sears, Target, K-mart, Rite Aid, CVS, Wal-mart, Publix and more. These companies would never work with a company that was anything less than reputable.

You can research the company at www.workathomeplus.net

Please beware of these scams. There are some legit home businesses out there so be careful. Look for companies in business over 10 years. Look for companies with a needed product or service, something you would be proud to represent. Look for companies that have a national reputation and are members of the US Chamber of Commerce.

As for those of you who say…..”I want to work from home but I don’t want to have to pay for anything”. Well, that’s great! But it will never happen. Let’s be honest, there is no such thing as a free lunch. If it is a true honest home business you need to expect to pay. Mr. Walt Disney didn’t start the Disney empire “without paying for anything”. Neither did Mr. Sam Walton, owner of Wal-Mart.

Advise on ways to teach my lil sister Spanish?

I've been working at a health clinic for almost a year in Yuma, Arizona. I've learned a lot of Spanish. Mostly medical related, but still a lot more than all of my family (we are white from Ohio). I'm moving back to Ohio and decided that I want to teach my 7 year old sister as much spanish and I can while she's younger. Can you recommend any educational books(geared towards youngsters) that I can sort of make a lessen plan with? Or how I can implement it so she doesn't get bored?Advise on ways to teach my lil sister Spanish?
Since your sister is 7 years old you should start with a basic book that will interest her. There are two books in specific that may help you: Let's Learn Spanish Coloring Book and Hablo Espanol!: Creative Activites to Teach Basic Spanish (Kids' Stuff). Also, once in while, you should take her to a place where spanish is spoken so both of you can practice. Try checking out a local latino center they may help you. • Are financial advisors just afraid of loosing clients when they advise that we should not ';sell'; these days?

You see on TV financial advisors say to ';buy low'; and that we should not panic.

Is this really sound advice for todays situation, or are they really looking out for their their own well being ?Are financial advisors just afraid of loosing clients when they advise that we should not ';sell'; these days?
No. They are telling you not to sell because that is what is wrong with the economy right now. People are panicking and don't realize that they are making it worse by withdrawing money from the banks, selling stocks, buying gas. We just need to slow down and ride this thing out. It will end a lot sooner if people just learn to be more patient and relaxed in their decision making. Are financial advisors just afraid of loosing clients when they advise that we should not ';sell'; these days?
Financial advisors are human. Like the rest of us, they do not feel comfortable admitting they are wrong. More so if doing so will affect their cash flow.

    ';buy low, sell high';

right now the market is low.

If you make decisions based on common sense, you will make money. If you make decisions based on irrational emotions such as fear, you will lose money.
Everything has been so oversold, it would be foolish to sell now. Most advisors would have told you to sell long ago, if they were really on top of their game. To sell now would not be recommended. September historically is the worst month of the year, and October can go either way. November is right behind Oct and things will be looking better by then. Don't give up hope.
