Sewer back-up ....left nasty smell in house which we cant get rid of, any advise?

smells throughout house, got the basement carpet shampooed, set up air fresheners and plug in ones too all to no avail, also had a professional carpet drier fan running, though the smell remains.Sewer back-up ....left nasty smell in house which we cant get rid of, any advise?
Get rid of the carpet (and any padding). Wash the floor and up the walls a little with Simple Green or ZEP Citrus Cleaner, both available at Home Depot. Rinse well. Keep running an EXHAUST fan, rather than just blowing the stinky air around with the 'pro rug-drying fan'..that heat from it isn't helping the situation.. Look at 'Bed, Bath and Beyond' or similar stores for the bags that you hang in closets to absorb odors...it's actually diatomaceous earth, which you might also find in a garden center in large quantities. Keep your basement windows open but keep screens on them. The stink may be with you for a while, but keep after it!Sewer back-up ....left nasty smell in house which we cant get rid of, any advise?
I have a lighter!
move!
We buy ';Odo-Ban';. We get it at Sam's Club. You can buy it by the gallon. It works like a charm and it disinfects, too.
Mop and spray some vinegar thru the house and allow it to dry with a fan.The smell will be gone.Take and pour some down the pipes and make sure all that smell is gone.Drains need some too.Just leave that fan on and it will go away.
Take a few or more bowls and set them around the house, in different places. Let them stary at least 24 hours. The vinegar is an odor eater and should do it. You might do it more that once. Also if you have to clean anything use vinegar that will help also.
