Looking for advise on purchasing a franchise. Looking for advise on lease and franchise agreements.?

Best places to seek out advise and info.Looking for advise on purchasing a franchise. Looking for advise on lease and franchise agreements.?
There are so many different franchised businesses that it's impossible to give you any specific information, but there are a few general things that might help you.

First, if this is your first venture into the ';joys'; of owning your own business, I would strongly recommend talking to the Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) about your business plan. You'll also want to have a lawyer look over the documents, but start with the SBA and SCORE, as they are both a lot of help and free.

Next, talk to some current franchise holders of the company that you're investigating. This shouldn't be a problem, as most franchises have dedicated territories for each franchise holder. Don't ask the company for these names. Find a phone book and pick your own.

Ask how well the company supports them with supplies, advertising and training. Talk to several, and remember that no matter how good a company is, there is someone that is unhappy with it, and no matter how bad it is, somebody will still think it's just great, so talk to several.Looking for advise on purchasing a franchise. The best place to go is to the source of your attention. it is very different from one leaser to the next.

one thing that is common, if you are leasing a name or becoming a franchise, you have to abide by there minimal standards or face breach of contract or even criminal charges for not upholding the image of the name. i would first look into what i am interested in putting my name on, then find out what they have to offer and what is required from them individually.
