after design how do they select what number of pieces to manufacture, how do they choose what sizes to produce and what number per size?Is there anyone who can advise me on how fashion designers select pieces for a collection fashion?
well the pricing is the vary basics of business...u want ot break even after all payments or if u established enough, make profit. as for sizing, there are standards they have to follow for each country and to whom they are making the clothing for...usually they make an equal amount of each size unless a particular size of woman is drawn to a product which happens rarely...they try to basically again sell as many as it takes to break even or make profit after a line is put out.
its basically just like any other business and how to run it...even selling cookies lol...most good designers know that its a business and they needa make enough to stay open...the reason the price is so high is because of the fabric and quality of everything they use and produce all the way down to sewing quality...most have employees that make the clothing and items, the designer themselves just thinks up the idea and puts the initial product together with a team...then the final items being sold are done by someone else for most successful designers u see on a lot of stores...i think there is a vid documentary out on ur Q...i vaguely remember seeing it a couple years back.
