Whats the best new mom advise you can give me?

Is there anything you wish you had bought before your baby came that you had to run to the store to buy later?Whats the best new mom advise you can give me?
Not anything I had to run out and buy. The best advice I can give you is go with your gut. You will learn as you go what your baby needs, and you will get plenty of advice. Save the advice for when nothing works, and go with your instincts. You are the mom and you will develop a special bond with your baby. Enjoy every minute you can, even when they cry. Because what seems like a life time now, will go by so quickly you will wish to have that baby back. Take lots of pictures too.

By the way, couldn't have lived without the bouncy chair. That became the first feeding chair and lots more. I didn't have one of the new kind that has motion, had the plain old fashioned one. And it got a work out. Good luck and enjoy!Whats the best new mom advise you can give me?
tylenol, a GOOD WORKING thermometer, diaper rash cream, a few different kinds of pacifiers, and however many diapers you have, DOUBLE IT!!! LOL
My advice....be careful listening to advice....everyone, and I mean everyone, will be offering it to you. Trust your own instincts. But with that said....here is my advice:

1) Hold your baby as much as you want...you will not spoil him despite what everyone will tell you. Trust me, there will come a time when he is reaching a year old and he is exhibiting his independence that he will push you away....hold him all you can, while you can.

2) Babies need love and comfort -- give it freely and abundantly. Don't make your baby cry it out until you know he is old enough to comfort himself. And if he cries for more than 10 minutes, you should go to him no matter what his age.

3) Do what works for you and your family-- that means it might be different than what other people think you should be doing--- but they aren't there with you in the middle of the night so you do what you need to do!

For purchases.....I think the one thing I found I needed more of were cloth pads to go on the changing pad. The baby was constantly peeing or soiling the cover on the changing pad-- and I only had 2 because they were expensive decorative ones. I went out and bought a dozen of these really thick cloth pads that were inexpensive (about $2 each) and put them down everywhere....in the crib, in the pram stoller, on the changing table.....so I never had to worry about spit up or poopy.
buy lots of pads - dont want to scare anyone but it was a complete surprise how long i needed them. and how many i went through in a day!
There are only three reasons why they cry.

1. They are hungry.

2. They need changing.

3. They are cold.

Learn which cry is which. It makes everything simple for the first few months. Then the real confusion starts!
If you are breastfeeding then invest in a good electric pump. I made the mistake of trying to use one of those hand pumps and my milk supply greatly diminshed. To this day I still can't get it back up.
DO NOT listen to people when they tell you ';Don't hold your baby too much they will get spoiled.'; Honey your child will only be a baby for a short time, hold him/her while you still can!!!
